Welcome
I would like to welcome you all to our family's journey into the next stage of our lives. Just 1 week from tomorrow we will be moving again (hopefully for the last time - at least for many years) to a house with more room than what we currently have.
Let me give you a little background, 6 months ago we moved out of the house we had been living in for the past 8+ years, and out of the state that all of our children were born in, to start over with new jobs, schools, and housing. The jobs part was the easiest, finding work here is a no brainer, and schools were fairly simple too; but find housing seems to be almost impossible. So we took a small apartment in the next town over from our goal town. We moved from a large 3 bedroom house with LOTS of space to this teeny tiny 2 bedroom apartment. The only way we could make it work is if we got rid of a lot of the items that we already owned. But as far as we were concerned it was worth it. Now, very recently we found a LARGE house, its an old farmhouse built back in the 1800s. It is listed as 4 bedrooms, but when we got into it we found it is more like 6.5. They only list 4 because after some heating work that was finished, they only ran ducts in 4 of the bedrooms. Which is totally ok with me! There is enough room for each kid to have a bedroom of their own (first time the oldest has had her own room since the youngest was born), a master bedroom, a larger upstairs storage room, a small downstairs storage room, and the BEST part of the whole house...I will finally have a CRAFT ROOM!!!! I am so excited.
But this house isn't without its problems, so I am hoping to record some of the DIY work I get to do in order to make this house our new home. Also, remember I said we had to get rid of a lot of stuff, so we have little to no furnishings going in. So I get to paint and decorate basically from scratch. This should be fun!
This is going to be kind of a slow process, but I will try to show off the work that gets done as I am doing it, along with much of the rest of our everyday life.
I hope you all enjoy all that we share with you.
